Infrared Process Imaging Systems

Glass Processing
Raytek offers highly customized process monitoring systems to measure temperatures for control of product uniformity and equipment performance. Our systems meet specific applications requirements.
GS100 Glass System The GS100 Thermal Imaging System is an automated temperature measurement system for glass bending, forming, annealing, and tempering processes.
GS110 Low-E Glass System The GS110 system is specifically designed to monitor and optimize the tempering process of one-side coated flat glass and is based on the proven Raytek GS100 system.
Product Description The GS100 Thermal Imaging System is an automated temperature measurement system for glass bending, forming, annealing, and tempering processes. The GS100 measures a line of 256 points using a rotating mirror that scans a 90º field-of-view up to 48 times per second. The scanning of a glass part is initiated by the measured temperature, or an external "trigger" signal. As each heated glass part traverses the field-of-view, a two-dimensional thermal image or "thermogram" is formed. The GS100 installs easily, just like a camera, and views the glass part from above, whenever it has a clear path. Connecting the pre-wired cables (included) to a PC and entering installation dimensions in the GS100 Software completes the installation process. The newest addition to the GS100, the GS110 System for Low Emissivity (Low-E) Glass with automatic emissivity correction, is designed to monitor one-side coated flat glass.

Paper Production
Raytek offers highly customized process monitoring systems to measure temperatures for control of product uniformity and equipment performance. Our systems meet specific applications requirements.
SS100 Synchron System The SS100 System is an advanced thermal imaging system for detecting, measuring and classifying thermal features and defects on the surface of soft calender rolls.
Product Description The SS100 System is an advanced thermal imaging system for detecting, measuring and classifying thermal features and defects on the surface of soft calender rolls. Synchronized with roll rotation, the Raytek MP50 Process Imager scans the entire roll surface and provides temperature data independent of roll rotation rate. Contamination on the surface of a soft calender roll can result in hot spots that can permanently damage the polymer coating on the roll surface. The rapidly responding SS100 System continuously monitors the entire calender roll surface and automatically detects hot spots. When detecting a hot spot, the SS100 System automatically generates an alarm allowing an operator to take prompt corrective action to prevent costly damage to the calender roll surface. The SS100 System supports multiple MP50 Process Imagers - each scanning a segment of a calender roll.

Plastic Processing
Raytek offers highly customized process monitoring systems to measure temperatures for control of product uniformity and equipment performance. Our systems meet specific applications requirements.
EC100 Extrusion System The EC100 System is an automated surface inspection system for detecting, measuring, and classifying defects occurring in extrusion coating, co-extrusion and laminating processes.
Product Description The EC100 System is an automated surface inspection system for detecting, measuring, and classifying defects occurring in extrusion coating, co-extrusion and laminating processes. This system provides a unique capability for managing the quality of plastic film extrusion processes. Temperature and viscosity variations in the local melt streams across the width of an extruder flow channel can cause "wavy"; or "running" edges, gaps, and edge-tears in the extruded film. Using the MP50 Process Imager, the EC100 System continuously monitors the temperature distribution and width of the extruded melt curtain to automatically detect such imperfections. The EC100 system continuously monitors the extrusion process allowing temperature data to be visualized as a line graph (profile) and a thermographic image. Profiles and images may be printed or archived for future analysis.

ES100 Extrusion System The ES100 System is an automated inspection system for detecting, measuring, and classifying defects occurring in sheet extrusion, cast film and web process.
Product Description The ES100 System is an automated inspection system for detecting, measuring, and classifying defects occurring in sheet extrusion, cast film and web process. It provides the capability to define any number of sectors corresponding to specified areas across the web. Sectors are defined by name, location, and the desired processing of temperature data within the sector (e.g., average, minimum, or maximum temperature). In sheet extrusion processes, sectors can be configured to provide temperatures corresponding to each die bolt. The ES100 system continuously monitors the web process allowing temperature data to be visualized as a line graph (profile) and a thermographic image. Profiles and images may be printed or archived for analysis. Through the use of OPC (OLE for Process Control), the ES100 system acts as an OPC server and communicates with many common process control systems. This feature allows the ES100 to move beyond being just a measurement tool and becomes an integral part of the total process control system.

TF100 Thermoforming System The TF100 System allows thermoformers to visualize the temperature distribution of virtually any plastic part in thermoforming processes.
Product Description The TF100 System allows thermoformers to visualize the temperature distribution of virtually any plastic part in thermoforming processes. The TF100 System features an easy-to-use "point and click" user interface. It installs easily and views the sheet between the oven and forming sections from the top. Connecting the pre-wired cables to a PC and entering installation dimensions in the TF100 Software completes this easy installation process.

Rotary Kiln Monitoring
Raytek offers highly customized process monitoring systems to measure temperatures for control of product uniformity and equipment performance. Our systems meet specific applications requirements.
CS200 Cement System Specifically designed for kiln monitoring, the CS200 is a fully integrated solution that monitors rotary kilns to detect hot spots and avoid costly damage and unscheduled downtime.
Product Description Specifically designed for kiln monitoring, the CS200 is a fully integrated solution that monitors rotary kilns to detect hot spots and avoid costly damage and unscheduled downtime. Optional, yet fully integrated, accessories extend the capability to include shadow sensing, burning zone monitoring, tire slip and fan control. Kiln shell temperatures are monitored along the entire length of the kiln providing an essential indication of the health of the refractory material. Temperature data for areas “shadowed” from the main sensor can be provided by individual point sensors and seamlessly integrated into one complete thermal image. Optional burning zone and tire slip monitoring [JS1] can be integrated into the system so that all information is displayed on one screen in the control room and all events are permanently linked in an extremely versatile historical data database. To insure reliable operation in even the harshest kiln environments, the MP50HR line scanner, which is used in the CS200 system, is designed with a rugged cast aluminum housing and mounted in a robust stainless steel Environmental Enclosure. The Environmental Enclosure includes an adjustable mounting bracket to aim the scanner along the kiln axis, a mounting rail permitting fast scanner installation, quick-disconnect fittings for air purge and water cooling and an easily replaced viewing window.
