Data Sheet

• Unlike the delicate safe area infrared instruments previously available,
Ex |CAM™ is designed to withstand the rigours of continuous life in corrosive,
explosive environments. With a polymer coated aluminium body, armoured
display and CLIRVU Ex™ high transmission optic Ex |CAM™ can withstand
a 1kg steel ball impact or direct fall onto concrete from two metres or
more with no effect on the protection concept!”

Ex |CAM™ is designed to be tough, its oversized manual focus ring and
simple one button FASTStore™ rapid save function allow simple, two handed
gloved operation, a requirement in harsh environments. • High strength
casing design and materials enable Ex |CAM™ to be used as a “crawl-aid”
during an emergency in heavy smoke or low light situations during restricted
access search and rescue operations.

Marine
This
camera is idea for marine applications, its rugged powder coated and
anodised aluminium construction is impervious to corrosive elements.
With standard temperature range of -20°C to + 250°C Ex |CAM™ can increase
SOLAS inspection speed accuracy and safety. Liquefied Natural Gas (LNG)
carriers in particular can benefit from Ex |CAM™ Professional safety,
transporting a highly explosive mixed is dangerous any potential for
ignition must be reduced or eliminated. The Ex |CAM™ Professional’s
ATEX Certification by DNV ensures maximum safety and confidence.
|

Offshore Exploration & Productiopn
Ex |CAM™ Professional is primarily designed
for use in the petrochemical industry, with ATEX approval from a proven
marine certified body, Det Norske Veritas (DNV). Using delicate safe area
IR cameras within an explosive atmosphere is dangerous. Ex |CAM™ Professional
is the only portable IR camera in the world to hold true Ex 2 IIG T3 ATEX
Certification, unlike delicate safe are IR systems, incorporating Ex |CAM™
Professional means that neither your worker safety, inspection routines
nor liability need to be in jeopardy.

Petrochemical
The European (ATEX) Directive
94/9/EC came into force 1st July 2003. The countries covered by the Directive
are all the European Union (EU) countries plus the European Free Trade Area
(EFTA) countries and include; United Kingdom, France, Germany, Italy & Norway.
If infrared inspection in an explosive atmosphere, either full or part time,
is required it is the responsibility of the employer to comply with the
above directive and select equipment suitably certified for the intended
atmospheres. Ex |CAM™ Professional is certified by DNV for operation within
Zone 1 explosive atmospheres without the need for permits or gas detection.
Realtime 50Hz imaging allows inspection of rotating machinery, such as bearing
for T-class inspection & compliance. No other portable IR camera can be
used within a Zone 1 explosive atmosphere either full time or periodically
in compliance with the legal ATEX Directive.

Hawk
IR International,
A Total Solution
The Ex|CAM AP-Series of ATEX certified
portable infrared cameras are designed to provide maximum return on
investment allowing infrared thermography of explosive atmospheres without
the need for lengthy permits to work and supplementary safety equipment.
Ex|CAM AP Professional is designed for
the professional thermographer and explosive atmosphere inspector. Its
onboard safety systems consist of; Intrinsically Safe (I.S.) power cells,
Dupl-Ex pressure protection module along with armoured LCD display,
machine grade aluminium body and a host of other safety features. In
addition to the base camera, Hawk IR International provide the automated
docking station which enables data transfer from the cameras on-board
storage to a standard PC via a groundbreaking USB protective barrier.
Any thermographer intending to operate Ex|CAM
AP Professional series cameras must complete a 5 day training course
at the Hawk IR Infrared Safety Centre (ISC), in the U.K. This course
will not only instruct the thermographer how to obtain reliable images,
but most importantly how to ensure that Ex|CAM
AP Professional is maintained and operated correctly in order
to maximize safety and return on investment.
